Counselling

Mallery has over 16 years of experience working in healthcare, mental health & addictions field with adults and families/couples. She is extensively knowledgeable in Health Care Systems. She has completed her Human Justice Degree, Bachelor’s of Social Work and her Master’s in Social Work degree. Some areas Mallery specializes in includes: domestic violence/interpersonal violence, narcissistic abuse, mental health, addictions including anxiety, depression grief and loss. Mallery has extensive experience working in the field of emergency crisis intervention and has a background in working with first responders. Mallery also has experience not only working in emergency services, but also providing supports, services and counselling to those working in Public safety/frontline positions & emergency services including EMS, paramedics and fire. Mallery practices from a trauma informed lens but also incorporates an anti-oppressive, strengths based and narrative approach while focusing on building strength and resilience. She also incorporates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and has training in EMDR. Mallery is compassionate, understanding and empathetic, allowing her to connect with others. She is passionate about mental wellness and healing including mental, spiritual and emotional wellbeing and recognizes that you are the expert in your own journey.

Heather brings 25 years of experience in Social Work, in medical and gerontology social work, addictions and trauma. Heather specializes in working with adults ages 18+. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work. She has extensive experience in abuse, addiction, and Complex PTSD.

Her expertise includes adult survivors of sexual abuse, addiction, and a wide range of other traumas. Having experience in Medical Social Work, Heather works in a trauma informed way with healthcare clients and frontline military personnel.

She holds a safe space for clients to heal from painful experiences. She practices with Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed Therapy. Heather works collaboratively, always maintaining the perspective that the client is the expert on their own life.

Heather works with empathy, and honours the client’s story. Together she and the client work from a strength – based approach in reshaping the painful narrative into one that compliments the client’s reality and future goals.
